[edit] Don Julio Real Anejo Review
[edit] Ron's thoughts
This tequila is mild almost to a fault. you feel almost like you're drinking something that has been watered down with really good water. it has, at first opening, almost zero bite - more like a mild tingle. the flavor is perfect, yet subdued. it's a lean back and relax sort of tequila. the best thing about it is its lack of faults - it tests exactly like what a tequila should taste like. it's only fault is that it's safe - it takes no risks with the flavor so there are no surprises. one surprise, tho, was that it developed a bit of a bite a week after being opened. it's still the best, but it's not as good as that first shot, but then again isn't it (almost) always that way with things? actually i rather miss the sweetness of the 1942, which balances it slightly more significant bite with the pleasant sweet - when Real acquires a bite there's nothing there to balance it.
