Starts with a wonderful slightly bitter yet fragrant agave flavor and finishes with a sweet vanilla. Goes down smooth with just a hint of bite which works perfectly with the mild bitter start. It numbs the lips and warms the body while sending a feeling of content throughout.

This tequila is the finest over-all tequila i have ever had. i have had Don Julio Real and it was good, but it was not this good. I have had Patron Burdeos and it was ok, but it was definitely not this good. i have had the famous Blue Bottle (Gran Centenario Gran Reserva) and it was damn good, but it was not this good. I have bought at least 8 bottles (that i can remember) of this tequila and every bottle was the most excellent bottle of tequila i ever had (overall - the Real was seriously excellent and the Blue Bottle was most excellent too, but the HSS is king in the end). If i ever have a tequila better than this i will weep because i must be dead (and there really is a heaven, which i'm kinda banking on there not being in the end but if there is it will be a tequila bar and it will be stocked wall to wall with HSS (and Real and Gran Cent Gran Reserva and Jose Cuervo Family Reserva and maybe some Rey Sol just to make Josh happy). :)
Anyway, this tequila is perfect in almost every way a tequila can be - the taste is beyond description - you must try it if you wish to be a true tequila connoisseur (i hate french words) but you should buy a bottle (even if it is $250-$300) because the shots are just too damn expensive and they aren't enough to experience this tequila in its fullest. the first glass will be gone before you know it and only when it's gone will your brain realize it's gone and then you will be reaching for your wallet so instead spend the money up front and buy a bottle (check eBay for most likely best prices and then check out http://shoppersvineyard.com/product_new.asp?pID=12759 where it's currently $300 + shipping) and try to make it last as long as you can and only share it with the best life-long friends and sip it slowly... :) ah, just thinking about it makes me smile... and thirsty!
