Patron Anejo

A consistent and reliable anejo.
[edit] Patron Anejo Review
[edit] Josh's thoughts
This, the standard Premium Tequila in America, is very consistent with a good agave flavor. It has a little more bite than some other fine tequilas but remains the de-facto standard of tequilas available in America.
You can get this stuff almost anywhere. With its rich aroma and delightful flavor you really can't go wrong especially with a night out on the town.
Patron Anejo makes a great starter tequila for those interested in exploring fine tequila.

Damn near 100% consistent, the smell doesn't tell you much - no hints, just that it's tequila. But the flavor is almost always the same - a rock-solid standard medium-high grade tequila. The bite can be significant, especially when the bottle is first opened, so keep this one at the front of your mouth until it's had a chance to beat up your tongue a little (and it's just a little beating), then take it to the back where the flavor will make your tongue single (except for the front of your tongue, which should recover soon). :) It's a full-bodied flavor, rich agave, no smoke, but satisfying. IMHO, for the price, this is Patron's best tequila - the Gran Patron being too mellow and nearly tasteless and the Burdeos tasting like you just licked a mushroom. This is my standard tequila (side-by-side with a Don Julio Anejo) when I go to Las Margaritas in Bellevue. I expect this tequila will mellow and get better with a bit of air in the bottle - i know it gets better after it's left to breathe in the glass a bit.
