Patron Burdeos

Ron Sez... Josh and I had a shot of this at his bon voyage party and, well, I should have got the HSS... (and eventually did thanks to the mistake of a bartender who doesn't know his Tonala from his Herradura...) ;-)

Anyway, had to try Patron's latest greatest and it's smooth (as any tequila this age (and price) should be) but it tastes so much like the barrel it was aged in you can taste mushrooms and musky oak in there (and not the pleaseant kind of musky oak either...). If I had to pick a Patron that's worth the price I'd stick with the Anejo 'cause the Platinum and the Burdeos just leave you (me) thinking that Patron is doing whatever it can to get a foot into the ultra-premium tequila market. Sorry Patron - Don Julio, Herradura, and Gran Centenario really didn't leave you much room...
